By experiencing Africa-American literature, students of diverse ethic backgrounds will have the opportunity to explore their own nature, acquire clearer perspective and great insight, and develop approached to other people and to life, which is only engendered by the study of literary works. The course will include the five periods of African-American literature. There will be several field trips to theatres, dance workshops, and libraries to further the awareness and understanding of African-American literature as an art form and as an integral part of American life and letters.
